Harper Adams University tops the latest Times Higher Education UK Student Experience Survey. Just over four years after gaining full university status, the specialist agricultural institution has beaten off competition from more than 120 other universities.
In conjunction with AMTRA, Harper Adams ofers a range of Level 4 modules leading to the SQP qualification. The 11 SQP qualifications offer routes for animal medicine advisers to prescribe and supply, depending on which species the candidate will be working with.
David Llewellyn, vice-chancellor Harper Adams University, said: “It is great to see our students rate the university so highly and coming first is a fantastic result. We work hard to give our students an outstanding academic experience, but because we are based in the countryside our Students’ Union also puts on a very active social programme to help students get to know each other.
“We work closely with our student community to focus on their social life and extracurricular activities as well as the support they receive from our dedicated and committed staff. We also encourage them to think about driving innovation in UK farming. “For instance, we are exploring how drones and robots might be used further in agriculture. We believe that for our students to achieve their full potential, they need to understand the changing nature of food production from our research activities.”
