Vetpol is bringing SQPs four CPD webinars, delivered by some true legends within the equine sector.
Partnering with Horiba, this half day, online event will take place on Wednesday, May 6, and free registration is now open – all sessions are 45 minutes long and accredited by Vetpol.
Whilst the topics are aimed at SQPs and other members of the veterinary team, Vetpol is inviting all Vetpol SQPs with an interest in horses to come along and listen to the sessions of most interest to you.
Agenda and speakers
Starting at 11am on May 6, here is what to expect:
- Nicky Housby‑Skeggs, veterinary director at The Horse Trust, will share best-practice guidance on worming young horses, covering pasture management, parasites of concern in foals, yearlings and youngstock, and the development of CANTER guidelines, supported by diagnostics.
- Claire Shand, director and SQP at Westgate Labs, will discuss the role of worm egg counts as a cornerstone of strategic parasite control, emphasising the importance of testing and honest appraisal.
- Nic de Brauwere, head of welfare and behaviour at Redwings, will explain how the best principles can help protect horses from strangles, both at the yard and when travelling; and
- Richard Newton, director of EIDS at the University of Cambridge, will explore how selecting the right diagnostic test at the correct stage of infection can significantly improve the detection, control and prevention of strangles.
The sessions close at 2.30pm. Register for one or all sessions, by clicking here.
