The VMD has issued a statement on Zoetis UK’s  product defect recall for Deosect, used to  control flies and lice on horses.

The recall is due to defective aluminium foil seals in some batches, leading to slight leakage during storage.

The VMD says: “We wish to make wholesale dealers aware Zoetis UK Ltd has issued a recall of Deosect 5% w/v Concentrate for Cutaneous Spray Solution 250ml (Vm 42058/4033).

Queries in relation to the recall should be directed to Zoetis UK’s technical services department on 0845 300 8034 (option 1).”

    Batches affected are:

    • No: E16140 – expiry date March 2019
    • No: E16178 – expiry date May 2019
    • No: E16162 – expiry date May 2019

Zoetis UK Ltd is contacting wholesale dealers to arrange return of affected batches.
