Last night’s OvertheCounter CPD Conference in Exeter was well supported, with SQPs travelling from across the South West to hear five interesting presentations across a range of subjects.

The event, which is run in association with AHDA and AMTRA, was sponsored by Baileys Horse Feeds, Bimeda and MSD Animal Health.

Lorna Edgar, equine nutritionist at Baileys Horse Feeds, spoke on the topical subject of The Overweight Equine; Sean Riches, senior product manager at MSD Animal Health, present the company’s five-point plan for lameness; and Jonathon Doyle, national accounts manager at Chanelle Animal Health, looked at which active ingredients kill which parasite.

After dinner, Rowena Rogers, an equine territory manager at MSD Animal Health, gave a presentation entitled Maintaining a Healthy Equine Hindgut; and David Mead, a regional sales manager at Bimeda, presented on the subject of dipping, scab and the role of SQPs in promoting best practice to farmers.

Simon King, OvertheCounter’s editor, said: “OvertheCounter is committed to ensuring that SQPs hear excellent presentations across a range of subjects and it was great to meet SQPs at last night’s event at Sandy Park in Exeter.”

The next OvertheCounter CPD Conference takes place in Carlisle on June 18. To register your place, please click HERE.
