NoBACZ Healthcare has released the fourth installment of its AMTRA-accredited online training course for SQPs on topical wound care in small ruminants.
The latest module, launched in conjunction with VBMS, is designed to strengthen SQPs’ understanding of wound healing and the impact of the farm environment on these processes. It features real-world case studies providing practical examples of how evidence‑based recommendations can be used on-farm.
Timed to coincide with the first-ever National SQP Week, the course acknowledges the important role of SQPs in supporting farmers with what can be a challenging topic.
Dr Emily Collins-Wingate MRCVS, technical veterinarian at NoBACZ Healthcare, said SQPs play a crucial role in the responsible supply of animal health products, ensuring that small ruminants receive appropriate wound care while maintaining compliance with UK regulations.
By equipping SQPs with up-to-date knowledge on wound healing, different causes of wounds and practical management strategies, NoBACZ aims to enhance the support SQPs provide to farmers and veterinary teams.
“We’re excited to launch the fourth of our SQP training courses during National SQP Week to ensure SQPs have up-to-date knowledge on wound healing, topical antibiotic use, and the challenges of managing wounds in the farm environment,” said Dr Collins-Wingate.
“Wounds inevitably occur daily on farms across the country, and SQPs are incredibly well-positioned to give guidance on wound care and products that may be beneficial for this.
“We hope this course empowers SQPs to give confident, reliable advice that supports both the welfare of small ruminants, and the farmers caring for them.”
Accredited by AMTRA, the new module provides three CPD points and builds on the success of the three courses previously delivered through the NoBACZ/VBMS collaboration. Further joint training initiatives are already in development for the second half of 2026.
The training is now live and accessible by clicking here; the course is also available on VetPol’s online training platform.
