    Jollyes Pets donates £40,000 to charities as part of its Christmas Donation Programme

    Jollyes Pets has thanked customers for donating tins of its Lifestage cat and dog food which will mean 424,000 tins will be donated to over 150 community charities such as food banks and rescue homes identified by each of its stores nationwide.

    And after completing the opening of six stores in just six weeks with the launch of its new store in Burnley, Lancashire last weekend, Jollyes also revealed it had donated all the £40,000 profit from the sale of those tins equally to five incredible charities and community interest groups across the country.

    The five charities receiving £8,000 each to support their vital work are:

    • Play for Strays in Northern Ireland brings positive enrichment, food, and fun to rescue animals and pets of the homeless community globally;
    • Miracle’s Mission, based in Cumbria, is a non-profit animal welfare organisation that works with sick, injured and disabled animals worldwide;
    • Friends of Animals Wales, based in South Wales, is a small independent charity that helps animals in need, mainly dogs, cats that are unwanted or vulnerable and finds them loving forever homes;
    • Food Aware CIC, based in South Yorkshire, is a not-for-profit social enterprise set up to find ways of redistributing surplus food from potential waste to human consumption or other environmentally friendly means of reuse; and
    • Furry Tails Feline Welfare, based in Lancashire, is a small cat welfare charity providing a temporary home and veterinary treatment to stray, unwanted and ill-treated cats and kittens until they are ready to be re-homed. Neutering is also an important part of the work they do, to help to reduce the number of unwanted cats.

    Jollyes Pets chief executive officer designate Adam Dury said: “As I’ve travelled the country to open our new stores and met some of these amazing organisations, I’ve been blown away by the work they do to support animals and pets in their communities.

    “We know the generosity of our customers in donating tins, and the additional donations we’ve been able to make from their sale, will make a massive difference right across the country this Christmas and beyond.

    “I’d like to thank our customers for generosity in making such a massive difference to amazing community groups who support pets and animals who need a helping hand.”
