    BETA launches equestrian calendar competition

The British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) has launched its annual competition to find 12 of the very best horsey-themed photographs to star in next year’s BETA equestrian calendar.

An image is needed to represent each month, with the one judged Best in Show winning the photographer a luxury gift hamper. All entries must be supplied in a digital format – minimum size 150 x 115mm (1,722 x 1,358 px) at 300dpi – and emailed to Tina Hustler, [email protected]

The photographer’s name, address and a description of the image should be included. All images must have been taken by the person submitting them and not be subject to copyright. The deadline for entries is September 18, 2019.

Ms Hustler said: “A BETA calendar has become a must-have for every office, retail store and yard. They are bright and cheery, and printed with all the year’s essential show dates – and still have plenty of space for appointments and handy reminders.

“The images are stunning and represent all aspects of an equestrian life. In the past, we have had everything from rides in the country and well-turned out ponies in the show ring to beautiful close-ups of equine features and cheeky shots of horsey fun in the paddock. We really can’t wait to see what our entrants come up with this year.”

The 2019 competition was won by Ciara Walsh with her breath-taking photograph of riders enjoying a winter’s evening on Ballyhoughane Beach, Galway (pictured).
