The Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association (PFMA) has launched an educational poster to highlight the importance of hay for guinea pigs.
Nicole Paley, deputy chief executive of the PFMA, said: “Having access to good quality hay or grass is key for guinea pigs’ digestive and dental health. Access to hay and grass also encourages natural foraging and grazing behaviour which is important in their overall health and welfare.
“This new poster from the Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association (PFMA) highlights what guinea pigs need in their diet to stay fit and healthy.”
Ms Paley said the poster can be downloaded in up to A3 size for pet shops, veterinary consultation rooms or classrooms as a “vibrant reminder” of what a healthy diet for guinea pigs looks like.
