UK Pet Food has launched a new educational poster to support the launch of its world leading standard for raw pet food production.
The purpose of the poster, UK Pet Food said, is to highlight the robust checks and measures behind the scheme to support the safe production of commercial raw pet food.
The scope of the scheme includes plant design and maintenance, supplier assurance, safe product formulation, full traceability systems, safe handling, quality checks, microbiological testing, a programme of internal auditing, HACCP, staff training and labelling compliance.
Nicole Paley, UK Pet Food’s deputy chief executive, said: “At UK Pet Food we provide educational resources on popular feeding topics to help pet care professionals in their conversations with pet owners.
“Our factsheet on responsible raw feeding is one of our most popular and we believe the new poster explaining the detail behind the new certification scheme and the benefits for owners, will be useful too.
