    The NFU unveils its new App

    News, views and expert guidance from the NFU are now available on a brand new app. The new NFU App is free to download on Google Play and the Apple App Store, putting the latest information at your fingertips.

    Although NFUonline has been mobile-friendly for many years, the NFU said that it wanted to grab the opportunity to give the organisation a presence in the important ‘swipe down’ notifications area on a mobile and tablet.

    By downloading the new free app, users are able to:

    • Customise what they read by farming sector;
    • Stay informed of the latest NFU news, advice and information;
    • Have the option of being informed when important news and information is added to the App; and
    • Access content from the App while they’re not connected to the Internet.

    For the NFU, it means it can send important updates exclusively to members via their phones or tablets without them having to sift through emails or trawl through NFUonline.

    NFU president Minette Batters said: “Getting important information to our members quickly and effectively is getting ever more important, especially in the current political climate.

    “With the majority of farmers using mobile phones to access news and information, indeed 42% of our own NFU online users access the site on their phones or tablets, the App provides an easy-access, tailored information service exclusively for NFU members.

    “Building on the tremendous benefits and services already on offer to NFU members, the App will provide an extra tool to help farmers make informed business decisions over the coming months and years.”
