RSPCA launches the Great Big Picnic

The RSPCA has launched the Great Big Picnic to help raise funds for animals in need.

Whether one of the team is a baking enthusiast, or your boss can just about make an edible sandwich, RPSCA said the picnic is all about getting friends and colleagues together for a well needed break.

The RSPCA said it can help plan the perfect picnic to raise money and help prevent animal cruelty. In June this year, the animal welfare charity took in a total of 3,260 dogs and 9,832 cats. The National Control Centre also received 517,494 calls in June alone.

The picnics can be held anytime and anywhere. There are posters, bunting, invites, cake flags and recipes all available to download when you register your picnic with the RSPCA. The fundraising pack also includes face masks to colour in for the children, a RSPCA-themed quiz and lots of fun ideas to do on the day.

A spokesman for the RSPCA added: “Why not get into the spirit of summer and hold a competition for the best decorated cake or cupcake, play at guessing the weight of the cake or the number of sweets in a jar, or have a game of Tug o’ War or even a sack and spoon race.

“Share the memories by posting a picture of your paw-some picnic using the hashtag #RSPCAPicnic.”

All the money raised from donations and games can be paid online through the RSPCA website and will go straight to helping the charity in its work. To register your interest and view downloadable materials visit http://www.rspca.org.uk/bigpicnic.
