Harper Adams remains one of the UK’s best universities for student satisfaction

AMTRA will publish a report summarising the findings of the industry survey at its summer stakeholder event which will be held on June 11 at Harper Adams University.

Harper Adams University remains one of the UK’s best universities for student satisfaction, figures from the Office for Students revealed.

Harper Adams scored 89% overall satisfaction, making it joint eighth in the UK (with 89% being the fifth highest score) of all higher education providers. Harper also has the sixth highest score from the “learning community” section of the survey; eighth overall for the Academic Support section; and sixth for students receiving sufficient advice and guidance in relation to their courses.

For its core agriculture course suite, Harper Adams ranks second in the UK for student satisfaction, with the highest score for first-degree agriculture students being “provided with opportunities to apply what they have learned” and a first overall for student satisfaction with non-first-degree agriculture routes (including the Foundation Science agriculture programme).

Nicola Dandridge, chief executive of The Office for Students, said: “While we have seen overall satisfaction fall by one percent, many questions have maintained their satisfaction levels including the student voice, academic support, learning resources and assessment and feedback questions.

“We run the NSS to help ensure that students’ voices are heard and understood – so that universities and colleges can work to give all students a positive experience of higher education. The NSS is a highly credible and long-established survey which continually achieves a very high response rate. The results are an invaluable tool for universities and colleges to improve students’ experience of higher education.”
