Following a capital investment of more than £3 million, Pets at Home is set to open four new locations in March.

The retailer is adding over 20,000sq ft of new veterinary and petcare retail space in Giltbrook (Nottingham), Stocksbridge (Sheffield), Kew (London) and Glossop (Derbyshire).

The new additions to the estate strengthen petcare services in the regions with new clinical capacity, in‑store experiences, providing access to integrated, high‑quality petcare services for local pet owners.

The busy month kicks off with two of the new petcare centres launching this Friday, (March 13). Pets at Home Kew will be a new 9,911sq ft store, while in Glossop, Pets at Home will launch a relocated and expanded 7,663sq ft store offering veterinary care, 24hour emergency support, an aquatics centre, and an adoption centre.

Later in the month, a new 1,410sq ft Vets for Pets practice in Stocksbridge will enhance local clinical capability, and a new 1,913sq ft practice in Giltbrook will provide greater choice and convenience for routine and specialist veterinary care.

Anja Madsen, Pets at Home’s chief operating officer, said: “Continued investment in our physical estate is central to our retail strategy and to strengthening our wider petcare ecosystem. By modernising our stores and expanding into new locations, we are enhancing the in-person experience that so many of our customers value, from tailored advice to convenient, integrated services.

“These new openings reflect our commitment to building a contemporary, future ready estate that supports pets and their owners however they choose to shop.”

Ms Madsen added: “We want every visit to Pets at Home to feel special, with moments of magic for pets and their pet parents, as well as the confidence that they are getting the right support at every stage of their pet’s life.

“These new openings are another step in building a modern, future-ready estate that strengthens our petcare ecosystem and makes it easier for customers to shop with us in the way that suits them best.”
