Downland has appointed a new franchisee, Carharrack Farm & Country Store. Based near Truro, Carharrack Farm & Country Store is owned by Jason and Sarah Andrew and covers the South Cornwall area.

Downland chief excutive Sophie Smith said: “At Downland we are committed to providing farmers with unbiased advice and support, and we’re delighted to be welcoming Carharrack Farm & Country Store into our network.

“We’re passionate about working closely with independent businesses to deliver farming excellence, and Jason and Sarah have a super family business and we look forward to working with the team.”

Originally from a farming and farm contractor background, Jason and Sarah Andrew bought the business and moved it to their farm premises in 2015.

Since then, the family-owned business, which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary later this year, has gone from strength to strength with a purpose-built retail premises which is POM-VPS licensed.

Having experienced rapid growth, the team now consists of nine staff, including Jason and Sarah’s two children, Michael and Emily, who is one of three SQPs in the team.

Mr Andrew said “Myself and the team are very proud to be joining the Downland network.

“We see this as a huge opportunity, and we are looking forward to supporting farmers in Cornwall and The Isles of Scilly.”
