RUMA Agriculture, supported by SCOPS, SVS, BVA and Moredun, is hosting a webinar on February 25, between 4pm-5pm, entitled: Nematodirus … Are we giving the right advice?
Join an expert panel to learn how to get the best outcomes from the SCOPS Nematodirus Hatching Forecast this spring – farmers, SQPs and vets are all invited.
Guiding sheep farmers on whether, and when, young lambs need treatment for Nematodirosis can be challenging. Disease can strike fast when lambs ingest large numbers of larvae from pasture, leading to production losses and even mortalities.
Temperature is a key driver in the hatching of larvae, and the SCOPS Forecast provides vital insight into when peak hatching is likely.
Used alongside on-farm risk factors such as grazing history and lamb age, it helps ensure treatments are well timed, preventing losses while avoiding unnecessary anthelmintic use.
The one hour webinar, which will qualify for CPD points, will cover how the forecast works, how to use it in practice, and the essential facts about Nematodirus biology and control. Real case studies will be shared and there will be an opportunity for questions
