Burgess Pet Care has been awarded International Business of the Year at the Yorkshire Post Business Awards 2025, in recognition of its strategic global growth and ongoing commitment to pet nutrition and welfare.

The family business, known for its expertise in small-animal care, has seen strong international demand for its tailored nutrition ranges. With expansion driven by market insight, localised partnerships and a focus on quality, Burgess has scaled its presence in key territories while maintaining the high standards that define the brand.

Kerry-Ann, international marketing executive at Burgess Pet Care, said: “This award is a huge honour and a testament to the team’s hard work and passion. It’s incredibly rewarding to see our approach recognised, not only in how we grow as a business, but in how we support pet welfare around the world.”

In the past 12 months, Burgess has grown export sales as a result of its international strategy. The company was also named Leading Small Animal and Reptile Brand at PetFair Asia earlier this year, reflecting its strong reputation and growing presence in global markets.

Suzanne Moyes, deputy managing director, added: “We’re proud to be flying the flag for Yorkshire pet food and to see our values resonate with customers around the world. This award is recognition of our long-term vision and the people behind it, from our team in Yorkshire to our international partners.”

The award marks another milestone in the company’s international journey, as Burgess continues to bring its welfare-first approach to new markets.
