Mars Horsecare has announced that Fiona Cayzer has been appointed as general manager.
She was previously chief financial officer for Mars Horsecare and succeeds Gordon Smith, who will be retiring at the end of 2024.
Mr Smith joined Mars Horsecare in 2003 and was promoted from marketing and sales director to general manager in 2020.
Ms Cayzer joined Mars Horsecare in 2013 and has since held a succession of finance roles across the UK and US. During this time she has been instrumental in driving profitability, delivering digital tools, and transforming the finance team.
She intends to build on the progress made in Horsecare in recent years, focusing on executing and evolving Horsecare’s strategy and continuing to make a better world for horses.
In the role, Ms Cayzer also hopes to focus on two of her areas of passion, developing people and driving digitalisation. She will continue to be based at the Mars Horsecare headquarters in Milton Keynes, but will take responsibility for both the UK and US businesses.
