The winners from the 2019 National SQP Awards

After a record-breaking number of entries across all categories in last year’s event, entries are now open for the 2020 National SQP Awards, a key date in the animal health industry calendar.

The closing date for entries is Friday, July 24

OvertheCounter, in conjunction with AMTRA and AHDA, is delighted to reward the best in the industry and we widely acknowledge that the focus of the National SQP Awards should be on the men and women that work in this sector across the UK – a business can only be as good as those that work for it.

This year’s awards lunch will be held on Thursday, November 5 at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London, which is adjacent to Hyde Park.

The culmination of the National SQP Awards will be the awards launch where we will announce the winners of the 13 categories. The National SQP of the Year title is chosen from the Companion, Equine, Farm and Veterinary Practice SQP of the Year winners. There is a special cash prize of £500 for the winner of the National SQP of the Year title – and we are delighted that we have received sponsorship from some of the best-known names in the animal health industry, which add adds extra importance to the value and prestige of these awards.

    New for 2020!
In the 2020 National SQP Awards, last year’s winners cannot enter the same winning category, but you are welcome to enter into other categories. We can also announce that during the judging process, all entries where the judging panel considers the entry shows a good understanding of professional and responsible prescribing and supply, will be awarded four CPD points.

Entry to as many categories that you are eligible to enter is free of charge and you can either be nominated for an award, or you can take the plunge and put yourself forward.

We are also delighted to announce that Dawn Howard, the chief executive of the National Office of Animal Health (NOAH), has joined the judging panel for this year’s awards.

This year’s judging panel consists of: John Lewis, chairman of Lewis Business Media and chairman of the judging panel; Stephen Dawson, secretary general of AMTRA; Bryan Lovegrove, secretary general of AHDA; AMTRA chairman Phil Sketchley; Dawn Howard and Simon King, the editor of OvertheCounter.
